Where to Find Papis in AION 2
Separate the Pet unlock from Soul farming, compare source conditions, and choose a route that fits your character.
Choose the Papis variant for your region
Papis is the pet name, while Gentle Papis, Ellun River Papis, Garden Papis and Faded Papis are different named monster records. The community references place Verteron variants and Altgard variants separately, with several level variants under the same monster name.
First action: In Verteron, check the low-level Gentle Papis route before a later variant. Our location diagram includes one selected Gentle Papis spawn in Eastern Cantas Valley. In Altgard, match the level of Faded Papis in your client instead of using a Verteron point.
When to stop: If your faction cannot reach the selected region, choose a source listed for your actual route. The same pet can have a different practical acquisition order for another character.

Shops, chests and achievement sources
Read the current offer or reward preview before spending or opening a chest. Confirm whether it grants the Pet or a Soul, and distinguish a selection chest from a random pool. Shop stock and prices can change; achievement requirements must match the current reward preview.

Turn a confirmed Soul reward into an upgrade plan
Read the transition costs from your current game client. Enter them and your owned Souls in the Pet Soul Planner. Only fill guaranteed Souls per run when your actual reward rule guarantees that quantity. Leave it unknown for random, disputed or conditional rewards.
Papis stats and insight levels explain the listed gain at each reference level. Source choice and upgrade value are separate decisions.
Troubleshoot a missing reward
- Wrong variant: compare exact monster name, level and region.
- Wrong eligibility: check party participation, encounter mode and character requirements.
- Wrong item: a Soul is upgrade material, not automatically a first unlock.
- Changed client rules: compare your region and patch with the referenced dataset.
- Unknown probability: do not turn a short losing streak into a precise drop-rate estimate.
